Some whites are there to sit back. Blocchi Whitecap in matt is one: a 60 x 246 mm rectangle with a quiet face and no gloss to speak of, so a laid wall stays bright and steady.
It makes a restful backdrop for black taps and mirror frames on a bathroom wall. Mapei Manhattan 2000 keeps the grout line close to invisible. This one comes from Italy.

Laying notes
Half offset (running bond) is the classic. A one-third offset suits longer tiles and softer finishes, a straight stack reads modern, and a vertical stack lifts the eye. A contrasting grout makes herringbone graphic.
