Kurrajong Sandbar, up close.
Warm sand, close to a kangaroo's coat, runs through Kurrajong Sandbar, a gloss porcelain rectangle, 28 x 150 mm, with pale patches and tiny flecks of darker colour. Its V3 shade variation sets some pieces a shade deeper than their neighbours.
Vertical rows suit this slim tile, which is made in Spain. Mapei Almond is so near the sand that the grout line almost disappears. Warm timber beside it keeps the whole thing soft.

Laying notes
Half offset (running bond) is the classic. A one-third offset suits longer tiles and softer finishes, a straight stack reads modern, and a vertical stack lifts the eye. A contrasting grout makes herringbone graphic.
