Tarwin Eclipse, up close.
Matt black does not come much quieter than Tarwin Eclipse. This porcelain rectangle, 50 x 150 mm and 10 mm thick, has a flat face with faint tonal movement, so a full wall never goes dead.
The ensuite render stacks it in tall vertical columns to draw the eye upward. Rated R9 and suited to walls and floors, it can carry down onto the floor too, with warm timber and brass taps beside it.
Specified properly.

Mapei Ultracolor Plus, for joints up to 20 mm.
Mapei makes no colour close to this glaze. This one sits nearest in depth, so the joint reads as a shadow line.

Laying notes
Half offset (running bond) is the classic. A one-third offset suits longer tiles and softer finishes, a straight stack reads modern, and a vertical stack lifts the eye. A contrasting grout makes herringbone graphic.
