Mallee Burnt Gum, up close.
Stretch the format and Mallee Burnt Gum becomes a slim, near-black strip. This glazed rectangle, 60 x 227 mm, is porcelain 9 mm thick, with a warm brown undertone and a narrow raised rim that draws a fine pale line around each piece.
Run it horizontally across a bathroom wall to widen the wall, or stand it upright on a tall feature wall to stress the height. Grout it with Mapei Volcano Sand and the lines nearly vanish, so the surface holds together as one dark sheet.

Laying notes
Half offset (running bond) is the classic. A one-third offset suits longer tiles and softer finishes, a straight stack reads modern, and a vertical stack lifts the eye. A contrasting grout makes herringbone graphic.
