Dandenong Sandbar Brick, up close.
Dandenong Sandbar Brick is a porcelain rectangle, 60 x 250 mm, with the look of aged brick in honey and buff, plus the odd darker, smoky piece. The surface has a slight relief, so the colour looks lived in from day one.
This one is for walls, and a feature wall laid in a half-bond shows the mix at its best. Mapei Sand keeps the warm tones running together across the grout line, and the darker pieces become the accents. The tile is made in Italy.

Laying notes
Half offset (running bond) is the classic. A one-third offset suits longer tiles and softer finishes, a straight stack reads modern, and a vertical stack lifts the eye. A contrasting grout makes herringbone graphic.
