Scatto Salt Pan is a soft white gloss subway tile, 75 x 150 mm, and its surface moves. A slight ripple runs across it, and light slides over the face and settles in the dips, so the laid surface keeps a gentle sense of movement.
Mapei Silver Grey sits so close to the colour that the grout line is barely there. In brick bond the ripple becomes the pattern, which suits a quiet scheme of pale timber and soft colour.

Laying notes
Half offset (running bond) is the classic. A one-third offset suits longer tiles and softer finishes, a straight stack reads modern, and a vertical stack lifts the eye. A contrasting grout makes herringbone graphic.
